I've always been a language geek and am a teacher by nature. I've taught Arabic since March 2001, when I founded Pacific Arabic, a language school for adults in San Francisco. I taught group and individual classes, and developed curricula for Modern Standard Arabic and Moroccan Arabic. In 2013 I established an Arabic program for middle school and high school students at the French American International School, reverse-engineering a curriculum to prepare students for the cumulative International Baccalaureate exam in Arabic. While teaching there, I brought several groups of seventh graders on Arabic immersion trips to Morocco.

 

Today, Pacific Arabic offers private, one-on-one online Arabic lessons for adults, from beginners to advanced students. My lessons combine a structured curriculum with the flexibility to accommodate each student's interests, goals and schedule.​

I'm a member of the American Association of Teachers of Arabic, the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages, the National Council of Less Commonly Taught Languages, the Computer-Assisted Language Instruction Consortium, the International Society for Technology in Education...and Sigma Delta Pi.
